News... Burn Down/Slow Down
Second year JamFactory Furniture Studio Associate Luca Lettieri travelled to Lessac, France to take part in Domaine de Boisbuchet’s summer workshops program this July as part of JamFactory’s annual Boisbuchet scholarship. Lettieri, who was one of two recipients of the residency, undertook workshops with leading international designers Marlene Huissoud (FR), Chris Schanck (USA) and Peter Beaugard (USA). Huissoud’s workshop ‘Slow Down Please’ was a group project that realised a space in nature for self-reflection, comprised entirely of foraged materials from the grounds of Boisbuchet.
‘Bauhaus on Fire’ with Schanckand Beaugard complimentarily focused on mass customisation by applying the ideas of industrial design to develop an object that enhanced an intimate everyday ritual. Lettieri’s resulting sculptural models made of ceramics and glass mirrored those of his most personal possessions. The JamFactory x Boisbuchet scholarship is generously funded by JamFactory’s Medici Program.
