JamFactory’s high school programs are designed to provide students with a behind-the-scenes overview of a professional working studio, production processes and career pathways for creative practitioners, as well as offer hands-on classes in wheel-throwing, hand building and silver jewellery making.

We have a range of workshop programs on offer in our Ceramics and Metal/Jewellery studios. All bookings include a full tour of JamFactory’s four working studios in Ceramics, Metal/Jewellery, Furniture and Glass.

Professional Development for Educators


 
 

A selection of JamFactory’s introduction-level short courses in ceramics and jewellery making are available as four-day intensive classes for private group bookings as an accessible professional development course for educators and other professionals:

  • Jewellery & Metal | Introduction to Silver Jewellery Making

  • Ceramics | Introduction to Wheel Throwing

  • Ceramics | Introduction to Hand Building

Work Experience Placements

JamFactory is pleased to offer three work experience placements each year, open to secondary school students between years 10-12. Students on placement will have the opportunity to immerse themselves within a working studio environment, observe creative practitioners and staff at work and assist with a range of administrative and practical tasks in JamFactory’s creative studios or exhibitions department.

Applications close on the 1st of March annually for placements occuring that year. Each placement on offer has a duration of four days and is located in a different studio or department:

  • Ceramics and Furniture Studio

  • Metal/Jewellery and Glass Studio

  • Gallery/Exhibitions Department
