News... Shining a Light on Glass

This year South Australian glass artist Jessica Loughlin was announced as a finalist for the Loewe Craft Prize for her kiln formed work Receptor of light IX. Inspired by the sense of space of Australia’s deserts and salt lakes the layered glass piece interacts with shifting light by capturing and reflecting its subtle changes throughout the day. The Loewe Craft Prize, now in its fourth year was launched by the LOEWE FOUNDATION in 2016 to celebrate excellence and innovation in modern craftsmanship, and recognise artists whose talent, vision and innovation promise to set a new standard for the future.
