The South Australian Minister for the Arts, the Hon Andrea Michaels MP recently appointed Jan Angas to JamFactory’s Board of Directors. Jan is a prominent and accomplished business and community leader in the Barossa region as well as a strong advocate for the arts and creative industries. Jan’s appointment will assist in deepening JamFactory’s connections with the Barossa which have grown over the past ten years through our satellite facility at the Seppeltsfield Estate Winery.
About Jan Angas
Jan Angas is an Interior Design Graduate of Uni SA School of Architecture & Building and worked at the Design Centre in Adelaide before moving to the Barossa. Jan embraced the Barossa with passion and is serious about protecting and promoting the international reputation that the Barossa has earned. She knows how to harness the support of others. She brings a long-term view, underpinned by strong values. Jan’s approach to her work, family, community and to her business is an audacious pursuit of something greater than now. She is a director of the family mixed farm business, running prime lambs, merino wool production, vineyard and cropping. Since 1990 she has run a value adding arm to the company with luxury farm accommodation, on farm experiences and produce. She was inducted as a Baron of the Barossa in 2007 for her passion and leadership to integrate food, wine, and the creative arts to continue the strong culture of the Barossa for the community and those who visit the region. Her board experience includes private companies and regional boards, across wine, food, tourism, music and creative arts.
